Run: January 30 – February 5

My mileage was a bit lower than I had hoped for, I guess that just happens sometimes. Over the weekend we went to New Jersey to see my family and with such a short visit, I felt like a jerk if I spent even 30 minutes of my time running. I decided to sit it out and socialize instead.

This week I will face the challenge of getting Kai to daycare in the mornings and completing a morning run. I think I can do it all, but I will admit that I am relieved not to have an 8am meeting today, less pressure to be punctual on the first day of my new morning routine. Most days this week I have a bit of extra flexibility and I’m pretty sure that I will need it.

In case you were wondering about my phone (Duh. Who wouldn’t be?): Last night I was able to retrieve all of the pictures from it, but the screen is very dim. It is turned off again and repacked in silica gel for a few more days, but I think it is going to be a goner. Super bummer. Chris is going to give me a pretty hard time about buying a second iPhone in less than one year. I don’t blame him, I would do the same. Ugh.

Hope the first day of your new routine goes smoothly!

Great week of running! 5 days is better than 0 days & you need at least one rest day!

That stinks about your phone! I broke the front glass on my iphone not THAT long after I got it, but long enough after that it wasn’t covered by the warranty.. Thankfully the apple guy was having a good day & he replaced it for free. Maybe you can check out craigslist or ebay for a used phone?

Craigslist and eBay are good ideas. I don’t know if I am patient enough to wait for a phone for as long as CL or eBay will take! My last eBay phone was a POS, it broke within a week, but I do realize that most of them are probably not like that, I just happened to get a phone from a dishonest seller.

I’d be careful with buying apple gadgets online from CL and the like. A former co-worker of mine bought an ipod from eBay, and it ended up being some kind of counterfeit. It played music that came on it, but it wouldn’t sync into iTunes to allow her to get any new music. Or something like that. Good luck with the new phone search.

I think you had a fine running week! It’s always hard to get workouts in when you are with family you don’t see very much. I think you 100% made the right choice by spending all the time you could with family.
