Run: June 5 – 30

So this is an extremely long update thanks to me being a blogging failure for the past few weeks. Why haven’t I been blogging? Well, mostly because we have had a lot going on. What has been happening at Duke’s House lately? Let’s see…

First up, some major yard work lured me away from the computer. The huge amount of mowing that we have to do in the summer often precludes our participation in other more fun activities. This situation was not alleviated any by the fact that Chris spent much of the month of June in India leaving me at home mowing solo.

Next up, some big changes. Duke and Tacia have moved. It is really weird not to have them here, and it was especially odd being home alone while Chris was still in India.

Back up. Duke doesn’t live at Duke’s House anymore? Nope, not for the next few months. Duke and Tacia have moved to my dad’s house until December. Everyone seems to be happy with the arrangement. Both dogs and people are doing great. Duke may not even miss us, although Tacia is pretty partial to Chris, so she may be a bit angry at me for leaving her in New Jersey.

I added even more excitement to my life as I wrecked my car in New Jersey the day after dropping off the dogs. Never a dull moment here! Now that I have that situation squared away, I am ready to tackle our next adventure which leads me to explain why Duke and Tacia have moved…

Chris and I will be moving to India in two weeks. Ok, in all fairness, it may not be exactly two weeks as we are still waiting on my visa and work permits for both of us. If you have ever gotten a foreign work permit or know anyone who has, you know that the timing on this is not an exact science.

Anyway, we expect to be leaving very soon and we are both quite excited. Over the past few weeks Chris has selected housing for us in Chennai. In a typical guy maneuver he forgot to take pictures of the place, but you can bet that I’ll be posting pictures of our new flat almost immediately upon arrival.

I am not sure what the cooking scenario will be when we get there, so for the next six months or so Duke’s House topic of discussion may change to living (and eating) in India and running (in India). If you notice in my workouts below, I am working my way through a return to running plan. I hope that you all, um if anyone is left after my month-long blog lapse, will continue to follow me on this journey, even if my capacity to cook new things becomes diminished. Then again, maybe I will get to expand my Indian cooking repertoire.

I apologize for my lapse in blogging and as I get back on track, I hope that some of you will follow me during my Indian adventure.
