Run: July 11 – 17

This week’s runs went much better than they have in a long time. I have decided to put an end to running laziness. Monday is a good example of running laziness. Is there any reason to do 1/3 of my run at a significantly slower pace than I am capable of? Not any reason that I can think of. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a warm-up, but an 11:39 mile is more like “I’m just going to shuffle through this and not really give a darn.” than it is a warm-up. So, I’m getting real with myself and I am going to quit slacking.

I am still on the fence about this November Marathon. I’m supposed to officially start training again on Monday if I am doing it. Quite honestly, it has already become a source of stress more than an event that I am looking forward to. I may see if I can switch to the half and just concentrate on running a good half. I never did achieve my goal to break 1:55 this spring…

  • Sunday: 1:10 mountain bike ride, rock climbing
  • Monday: 6 miles (11:39, 10:48, 10:05, 9:27, 9:18, 9:09), 50 minute mountain bike ride
  • Tuesday: 6 miles (9:56, 9:45, 9:25, 9:09, 8:53, 9:10), core
  • Wednesday: 9 miles (10:00, 9:46, 9:41, 9:37, 9:32, 9:29, 9:24, 9:20, 9:12)
  • Thursday: 4 miles (9:46, 9:36, 9:27, 9:19), upper body weights, core
  • Friday: 5 miles (9:51, 9:41, 9:32, 9:23, 9:15), core
  • Saturday: rest

Total Weekly Miles: 30
Total July Miles: 63.3
Total Yearly Miles: 764.8
Miles on Current Shoes: 375.41
